Vision and Values
Our Vision is a nurturing community, that expects respect, encourages creativity, and embraces aspiration.
This vision has been created from feedback from our parent questionnaire alongside input from other stakeholders in the school, including our children. The specific objectives, which further these aims, can be found in subject and school policies. They are designed to underpin our schools ambitions and form the foundation of our ethos. These have been ratified by our Governing Body, who endorse and support these aims as they provide strategic support and direction to the school.
Key words from our school’s vision are also used as our school values:
- Nurture
- Respect
- Creativity
- Aspiration
Nurture recognises every child’s right to learn in a safe environment and one where their individual wellbeing is cared for so they can achieve their best.
We encourage respect at all times and this value is fundamental to our behaviour rules in the school. We expect everyone to accept and respect each other’s individual uniqueness. The respect in our relationships builds feelings of trust, safety, and wellbeing.
Creativity allows us to view and solve problems more openly and with innovation. Creativity opens the mind and broadens our perspectives to become more tolerant.
Aspiration can help give life and work purpose and meaning. We want our children to hope and aim high towards their aspirations.
These values can be seen explicitly around our school and exemplified by children’s work.
They are also underpinned by explicit teaching of the British Values:
- Mutual Respect
- Individual Liberty
- Tolerance
- Democracy
- Rule of Law
And our Learning Powers:
- Respect
- Resilience
- Co-operation
- Independence
- Reflective
